This review comes after two initial visits. I was introduced to JavaVino at one of their monthly wine tastings. At $10 a ticket + $3 in fees it's a great deal where you get a nearly private wine tasting with the knowledgeable owner. I think they limit the tastings to 25 tickets or less and you could tell their are repeat visitors. After this experience and learning more about their family coffee farm in Nica I decided to give it a try to get work done over coffee and breakfast. WOW - it was so welcoming and cozy and clearly there are plenty of regulars as the staff greeted multiple customers by name. The entire menu is fairly priced and I enjoyed my "guilt free gecko" as they call it and an simple but delicious breakfast sandwich on toast. There is plenty of laptop friendly workspace and plenty of nooks and crannies to enjoy coffee alone or with friends--indoor or outdoors. This is not your corporatized coffee place with "cute" branding and snooty baristas. This is the real deal with a family coffee farm, everybody knows your name vibe, and a refreshingly simple and delicious menu at the right price. I can't wait to introduce more friends and family to this to gem!

I like this little coffee shop and wine house, it, definitely feels like a local spot where you might see repeat customers. I've only been here twice but I've enjoyed my coffee and meal on both occasions but I have to say the service is not consistent. It's not bad, it's just mediocre. The baristas can make a killer cup of coffee though. As the name suggests they offer coffee and wine, they host monthly wine events/ tastings. I need to check out their website for the next scheduled tasting.
The shop is located on busy N Highlands Ave between Freedom Pkwy and North Ave. They offer free parking directly behind their building which is always a plus in the city. It's a very cozy shop with a few places to sit inside and they offer patio seating also in the front.
I've had their top seller Bee Sting: Espresso, honey, vanilla and steamed milk topped with frothed milk ($4.50 12oz). After one sip I instantly knew why this was a hit. Its just the right amount of honey and the coffee is perfect. Maybe it's because JavaVino roasts all their own coffee, the house coffee and many of the blends come from their very own coffee farm, Selva Negra Coffee Estate, in Nicaragua. I've also tried the Dancing Cuban: chai, cinnamon, gingerbread and espresso ($4 8oz). 5 star drink that is absolutely delicious and smooth.
My veggie friends you can find lots of vegan pastries in the case for purchase. Yummy!! -

The story of this coffee shop is truly special - and the coffee and almond croissants are fantastic too! They have a direct relationship with a single farm in Nicaragua where they source their coffee beans. You can even see the entire process documented on the wall (see picture)! This is a coffee-geek destination, the true embodiment of farm-to-cup. Plus wine, tea, beer, and breakfast sandwiches and borritos!
Parking is tight but welcome to Atlanta. It's a short walk from the Jimmy Carter Library, which has plenty of parking. -

This review is for their rental space (wine lounge only this time).
Five stars for service, staff, and all around good vibes! As the matron of honor, I am in charge of all anti-bridezilla measures, including the Bridal Shower Brunch.
Very few venues allow outside food, so that is a huge plus for JavaVino. We only had to purchase the beverages, and might I add that I'm now spoiled. I don't want to have to perfect the mix ever again. Just let JavaVino serve up the perfect mimosa batch. The non-alcoholic hibiscus tea was also a great complement to our brunch spread.
Page was a godsend!!! She dealt with my questions and last minute texts without sending me to the blocked list lol! I'll definitely be back!
The only thing I'd recommend improving or advising others about is the need for seat covers because some of the chairs are worn. This isn't a deal breaker for me though. I'm STILL hosting my next event here if the date is available. -

Wait, how have I not reviewed JavaVino? I've been here a few times over the years, but needing to get some reading done, I paid them a visit on a Friday afternoon.
Not much had changed since my last visit at JavaVino. Interior holds about a dozen small tables inside and about a half dozen outside, as well as a window side ledge for seating..
As the name suggests, Wine and coffee can be purchased, and boy do they have an assortment of coffee beans, almost an entire wall of them. I got a16oz americano espresso ($3) decaffeinated, as well as a jalapeno and cream cheese croissant (about $4)
The Croissant, which had black sesame seeds sprinkled over it, was served warm and had decent flavor, but had very little jalapeno, and almost no cream cheese at all. I couldn't taste any of it anyway.
The cup of decaff espresso was actually not bad! It tasted just like a regular cup, great because i'm very sensitive to caffeine when I have it in the afternoon, making a decent cup of joe without all the caffeine a good thing.
Parking at JavaVino is tight, and you'' hesitate as you go down the very steep hill (no really, don't come flying down this drive way). There's only aboug 5 or 6 real parking spots, though i've seen people park on the curb before at the bottom.
Located off of N. Highland Ave, right across the street from Manuel's Tavern, depending on the time of day, getting in and out can be tough, but not impossible.
JavaVino is an oldie but a goodie, and while there's a ton of competition...much more than when JavaVino was just getting started, they do have a cup for you, and practically every type of coffee bean you can think of. May be worth checking out!
